Hi, I’m Rebecca Gephart, MSN, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC, CFMP — a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, and the founder of New Horizon Functional Medicine.
I bring over 22 years of experience in healthcare and more than 14 years as a Nurse Practitioner, with dual board certification in both Family Practice and Acute Care. My background includes hospital medicine, emergency care, and serving patients in both urban and rural settings — including time practicing in Alaska.
Today, I combine a strong conventional medical foundation with functional medicine to help patients who feel unheard, stuck, or frustrated by ongoing symptoms.
If you’re ready for clear clinical direction and a personalized starting point, the Clinical Strategy Visit is where we begin.
Credentials & Experience
- Board-certified Nurse Practitioner (Family Practice & Acute Care)
- Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP)
- 22+ years in healthcare, 14+ years as a Nurse Practitioner
- Background in hospital medicine, emergency care, and rural practice
- Evidence-based, root-cause focused approach
Many patients who seek functional medicine care have been told their laboratory testing is “normal” despite continuing to feel unwell. My role is to step back, look for patterns across multiple systems, and provide clear clinical direction for the next steps in care.
My Approach to Care
At New Horizon Functional Medicine, I practice evidence-based, data-driven functional medicine. This means:
- We look for root causes — not just manage symptoms
- We use targeted testing when appropriate (not guesswork or trends)
- We prioritize nutrition, lifestyle, and natural therapies first, with thoughtful integration of medications when needed
- We work alongside your primary care provider and specialists — not in place of them
My goal is to help your body regain balance and function so you can truly feel better, not just be told your labs are “normal.”
Why I Do This Work
Like many of the patients I now serve, my own health journey didn’t fit neatly into standard lab results.
For years, I struggled with fatigue, hormone imbalances, infertility, and the frustration of being told everything looked “normal” — despite not feeling well. It wasn’t until I worked with a provider who took a deeper, functional approach, looking beyond surface labs to uncover root causes, that real healing began.
That experience transformed how I practice medicine.
I understand firsthand how discouraging it can feel to live with symptoms without clear answers — and how life-changing it can be when someone finally connects the dots and creates a thoughtful, personalized plan forward.
What You Can Expect as a Patient
When you work with me, you can expect:
- A thoughtful review of your health history, symptoms, and goals
- Clinical pattern recognition to help explain contributing factors
- Targeted testing when appropriate to guide care decisions
- Clear step-by-step guidance rather than overwhelming protocols
- Ongoing partnership as we work through each phase of care
Functional medicine is a process, and we work together over time to build clarity, address root causes, and support lasting improvement.
Is This the Right Fit for You?
My practice is best suited for individuals who:
- Are ready to address the root causes of their symptoms
